Times they are a-changin! I have not been playing publicly since early March. However I hope to be back at Kemoll’s Chophouse by June or earlier. Recent posts from some Stanford U. experts (and others) state that in light of new data, the scary projections have to be tamped down. Meaning it’s not as bad as everyone has been worried about—not by a long shot. I don’t know how else to state it. I will certainly keep this column up to date. Personally, I have no qualms about being in public or performing for folks especially in the beautiful Kemoll’s venue, but I certainly respect other’s decisions in regards to all this. The elegant, new KEMOLL’s Chophouse in Westport Plaza St. Louis County must be experienced- so check it out when it reopens! My hours are usually 5- 8pm Monday thru Thursday and 5:30- 8:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Kemoll’s is a St. Louis culinary gem dating back 93 years to 1927. Still run old-style by the original family. Their homemade $6. appetizers include T-Ravs, amazing meatballs, hand-stuffed Peppadew peppers, Bangkok chicken and more, with this Happy Hour pricing all the way to 8:30. Also hopefully in my schedule for 2020, catch ‘Al Ox & Friends’ playing at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Clayton MO USA (any upcoming Friday dates will be posted) At Ruth’s, I am joined by some of St. Louis’ top players, including Randall ‘Bear’ on guitar and drummers such as Brian May, Gerald Warren or Drew Bethany. See you soon!
Whether you’re planning a soiree at your home, the music of your ‘Special Day’ or a corporate bash in a stately ballroom, you are welcome to contact me directly to discuss the musical needs of your event. As well as corporate events, I have performed for orgs such as the American Heart Ball, Make A Wish and Great Circle. Some regional events have included Music Festivals, as well as events at the Chase Hotel’s Starlight & Khorassan Ballrooms, St. Louis Country Club, The Fox Theater, Shaw’s Garden’s ‘Wine In The Garden’ and The Dark Room at The Grandel – My trio recently performed at Illinois’ S.I.U. Edwardsville for a college fundraiser. I have sung with the Boston Pops and at some of St. Louis’ top bistros and steakhouses including my present tenure at Kemoll’s (see article left), as well as playing years at Ruth’s Chris and in The Ritz Carlton St. Louis’ Lobby Lounge.
And I love playing and sharing my music. To me, music is that positive charge that goes through to the guests… So, whether I’m creating a welcome mood on solo piano, or with a full band (or even on drums with the eclectic ‘Silverphreek’ trio), you know that my performance will help lift your event (or venue) to the inspired level you seek. Use the CONTACT page on this site or message TapGuy@ gmail. com – About the video on this page; Though I am a solo pianist, this showcases Straight Up- A Shot Of Sinatra a concert at The Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis. Thank you! -Alan
(Previously posted) There’s An Alien In My Soup is a musical stage play based upon actual interviews of military and governmental personnel. Coming LIVE to ‘Theater In The Park’ in O’Fallon MO July 18th, please see below! I portray these men who recount extraordinary experiences with UFOs, alien visitors and the resistance of governments to the open discussion of these incidents. I wrote this stage play to help reveal where we truly are on the timeline of discovery. This play is a walk along the precipice of the unknown… An entertaining look at the most confounding question of our time…. What’s up with alien life? Not just a play for ‘believers’ or ‘the initiated’ but for skeptics and those who have barely delved into the subject. As one playgoer said, “This play has to be seen by everyone… I loved every aspect of it!” Don’t miss the next production of There’s An Alien In My Soup, COMING UP perhaps in YOUR town! (If you know of a great venue for this production, please use the CONTACT page and write to me!) See more at the website dedicated to the play, AlienInMySoup.com and make plans to attend! (Presently booking theatrical dates the world over).
My collaboration with longtime bud Al Hammerman goes back to when we were kiddos. Now years later the friendship has been rekindled through music. Al’s talent for writing good tunes has brought together musicians and engineers with Hollywood and paid off in great songs now recorded on more than five albums. What’s cool too is that the dozen or so songs I’ve recorded in those projects may now be stumbled upon in the sound tracks of various movies and TV shows- just some of which are seen here. This guy is good! Check out a couple of sample sounds on this site in the MP3 Section and check out Al’s site too . Also, here’s the Giorgio Armani ‘Made To Measure‘ video!
